Miguel Mónaco

Miguel is a lawyer and a specialist in Administrative Law (cum laude), both degrees from the Universidad Católica Andrés Bello. He holds a Master of Laws from Temple University School of Law and obtained his Doctor of Science degree, majoring in Law, from the Universidad Central de Venezuela, with a thesis graded as "excellent."

He has served as Dean of the Faculty of Law at UCAB and Director of the Institute for Legal Research at the same faculty.

He is the author of the book The Regulation of Monopolies and Dominant Position in Venezuela, from the Perspective of Competition Law, in addition to multiple studies, articles, and monographs in various areas related to business regulation and economic activity. He is a regular speaker on these topics.

Currently, he is a Partner in the Economic Public Law Department at Hexa Legal, and serves as a professor and researcher at UCAB, focusing on the area of Economic Public Law.

His areas of specialization include Public Law related to the regulation of private economic activity in Venezuela, with an emphasis on the mass consumption, banking and insurance, public procurement, pharmaceutical, hydrocarbon, mining, competition, and telecommunications sectors. Likewise, he advises on private contracting, especially in the construction and distribution sectors.
